The beach is a strip of black volcanic sand that stretches for several kilometers.

The main activity is surfing: El Paredón's waves are consistent all year round, with peak season from May to October when South Pacific swells arrive with greater force. This little beach town is delightfully underdeveloped, authentic, and relaxed. This is not a resort town by any means. Lots of small hotels and hostels. The temperature stays hot at night, and you might have difficulty sleeping. The beach was mostly clean, and the waves were good.
